A 13hr Layover in Brussels

So we woke up on Monday at 4am to grab our taxi to the airport. I’d been feeling better but that morning I was very sick, though thankfully I was able to not yak in the very very posh taxi. Anyway, we got to the airport and caught our plane no problem (it departed around 6am). They did the flight safety speech and all the announcements in French, I guess Dutch, and English. Bohemian Rhapsody (lol Prague)

Jeremy and I woke up in Munich and rushedΒ off to get ourselves sorted at the central station for what we thought was going to be a direct train to Prague, Czech Republic. My boyfriend of two years, Jeremy, flew over from Canada to visit me for a few weeks, and the Sunday after he got here we packed up all the rented camping gear we had and took a train to Aberdeen where we caught the ferry to Lerwick, Shetland. Continue reading

Haarlem and Eindhoven

So yesterday I spent the day in the picturesquely-medieval Haarlem, just twenty minutes from Amsterdam Centraal on the train. It was absolutely splendid. (like, quite possibly going to be my favourite partΒ of the trip).

In the morning, I wandered through Vondelpark in Amsterdam for a bit… the amount of cyclists in Amsterdam is jaw-dropping anywhere but in Vondelpark it’s specifically insane. A very very nice park for a wander-through. Continue reading
